Recent government data has shown that there has been a 124.7 per cent rise in the number of positive cases of Covid-19 across Brighton and Hove.
The number rose from 498 in the week to June 24 to 1,119 in the week to July 1.
The latter figure put Brighton and Hove with the highest number of positive cases across Sussex with 385 per 100,000 population that week.
Hastings followed with 261, a 190 per cent increase from the previous week, Adur had 221 and Crawley had 195 per 100,000.
In total Brighton and Hove has recorded 17,455 positive coronavirus cases during the entire pandemic at the time of writing.
During the week preceding July 1, the rate per 100,000 population across the whole of England was 238.
Figures also show that the total number of deaths within 28 days of a positive test in Brighton and Hove was 375.
As of July 5, approximately 70.3 per cent of the adult population has had the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine and 46.9 per cent has had the second across the area.
On July 6 just 139 patients were in hospital with Covid across the whole of the South East.
