A CAR has been flattened by a tree that was uprooted during 50mph winds that battered the coast.
A silver Audi parked under a tree in Granville Road, Eastbourne, has been damaged after it fell during a night of strong winds on Tuesday.
It comes as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning that is set to last until 12pm yesterday, with gusts set to slam Sussex.
Pictures taken from the scene show the car buried under the tree's foliage, as it sits parked on the road.
A passerby said he saw a couple inspecting the vehicle for damage this morning.

They told The Argus: "The usual photographer curiosity made me check it out and it seemed the car was parked up and the winds have managed to bring it [the tree] down onto it.
"There was a couple with it, I would take a guess they were connected to it but very unlikely looking at them that they were in or near it when it happened."
The weather warning covered the south of England from Weymouth to Dover, as well as coastal parts of Essex and Suffolk.
Wind gusts were predicted to increase by around 11pm last night, peaking at around 50mph by 7am today.
