GUESTS at the Hilton Brighton Metropole were evacuated this morning due to a fire alarm.

Visitors to the seafront hotel were left having to standing around on Kings Road after the alarm starting shortly before 6am

It is reported that the hotel launched a "full evacuation" in response to the alarm which rang out in the hallways and rooms as guests made their way outside.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue crews from Hove and Preston Circus were called to the scene at 5.57am.

A spokeswoman for the service said incident was a false alarm.

A letter from the hotel was sent to guests following the incident.

It read: "Thank you for your co-operation during the fire alarm earlier today.

"The incident was investigated and hotel was deemed safe.

"We would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience this has causes you.
