LARGE amounts of dangerous asbestos waste is being dumped on country lanes.
Photos shared by Wealden District Council show piles of asbestos insulation board (AIB) and large rubbish bags abandoned in woodland by the side of the road.
Over the last two weeks, the hazardous waste has been found in Danetage, Rotherfield, Mark Cross, Crowborough and Lodge Lane, Frant.
AIB was commonly used as a fireproofing material as well as for partition walls, ceiling tiles and lift shaft linings.
In a statement, Wealden Council said this type of asbestos should be removed and disposed of by a specialist contractor.
