A FORMER Love Island contestant is taking part in a Christmas pantomime this year.
Amy Hart, who was born in Worthing, will be performing at the King's Theatre in Albert Road, Portsmouth. She will make her professional debut in Jack and the Beanstalk where she will be playing the role of Princess Jill.
After rising to fame after appearing on season five of ITV's Love Island, Amy will be joined by Sean Smith, an X Factor finalist and one half of the band Same Difference plus Portsmouth's pantomime regulars Jack Edwards, James Percy, Julia Worsley, Marlene Little Hill and Peter McCrohon.
Amy said: "Theatre is my absolute passion, and pantomime is something I have grown up with, so I'm really excited to be doing my first professional show after Love Island.
"The King's Theatre is absolutely beautiful, and I was so blown away when I first came here. There's so much history, and I can't wait to perform on the stage as part of a pantomime family."
A former air hostess, Amy has always been a keen performer, and after leaving Love Island, she has appeared in magazines and TV shows like Loose Women and Good Morning Britain.
She has also presented industry red carpet shows alongside managing an Instagram account with 1.1 million followers.
Paul Woolf, Kings Theatre chief executive, said: "I'm delighted to welcome Amy to our Pompey panto family.
"With an incredible passion for theatre and the performing arts combined with a fantastic, infectious personality, she will be a real hit with our audience and someone who will settle in with our cast well.
"Last year's pantomime was incredibly special for so many reasons and will live long in the memory. I'm delighted that we can get the gang back together, and Amy is a fantastic addition to that."
Jack and the Beanstalk is being produced in-house by the King's Theatre. The show will be from November 21 until January 2 next year with tickets starting at £18.
