A DRIVER has been reported to court and is "likely" to be disqualified from driving after he sped past an unmarked police car on the A24 at almost 100mph.
Officers from Sussex Police stopped the vehicle on the carriageway at Southwater after it was spotted doing 99mph.
The driver was going so fast, that they failed to notice the unmarked car they were overtaking, police said.
Posting the incident on Twitter, Sussex Roads Police shared a picture of an ANPR device that clocked the staggering speed on Sunday.
The tweet read: "We have just stopped a vehicle on the A24 at Southwater which was travelling at 99mph.
"They were going so fast they didn't realise the unmarked car that they were overtaking.
"The driver has been reported to court for a likely disqualification."
