Amazon Prime Day will take place next week.
But what is it? And what are the best deals to look out for?
Here is all you need to know:
What is Amazon Prime Day?
The first Amazon Prime Day took place on July 15, 2015, marking the anniversary of the company by chief executive Jeff Bezos.
Prime Day was a day-long flash sale of primarily tech and electronics but it has become much larger and longer in the years since.

To take part, users must be signed up to Amazon Prime, the £79-a-year subscription service that gives users access to free, unlimited one-day delivery on many items, as well as Amazon Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime Reading and early access to deals.
More than ten million people subscribe to the service in the UK.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2021?
Prime Day 2021 will take place on Monday, June 21 and Tuesday, June 22, starting one minute after midnight.
It will include more than 2 million deals globally which will be regularly updated until 11:59pm on June 22.
How does Amazon Prime Day work?
You need to be an Amazon Prime member to get access to the best deals.
If you're not yet a member, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial, which can be cancelled at any time thereafter.
There are two types of deals:
- Those that last for a full day, or two
- Lightning deals, which are activated at a specific time and last until the stock of that particular product has run out
New deals are released as often as every five minutes and many sell out quickly.
Small businesses on Amazon Prime
Last year, Prime Day offered an initiative to support small businesses selling on Amazon UK, which will continue this year for Prime Day 2021.
From June 7 to June 20, Prime members who spend £10 with select small businesses on Amazon will earn £10 to spend on almost any product on Prime Day.
