PUBS are welcoming football fans through their doors for this summer's Euros.
Despite having to meet Covid-19 regulations our landlords are getting in the spirit for England's bid for glory at the European Championships.
One pub that has managed to embrace football mode fully is Ye Olde King and Queen in Marlborough Place, Brighton. The pub has been decorated with lots of flags representing countries taking part in the tournament.
A massive inflatable football with Euro 2020 logos has been placed on top of the bar, ready for fans. England supporters will be able to enjoy the surroundings for the match against Croatia at 2pm on Sunday.
General manager Mark Such said: "We have put up flags and bunting celebrating the tournament, we have included every country, so everyone is welcome.
"Everyone and everyone is trying to get a spot so they can watch the football. But, unfortunately, some people aren't turning up to their bookings, so we have to operate on a first-come, first-served basis."
"We are doing what is required to deal with Covid-19 restrictions the government has put out. So we have reduced from our regular 500 to 150, although it is challenging."
Walkabout in West Street, Brighton and The Blind Busker in Church Road, Hove have put up some flags in preparation for the tournament.
Antonello Moti, team leader at Walkabout, said: "The Euros are a great way to welcome people back into the bar. We have managed to display some flags up around the bar, but it's not much."
"Although, with the restrictions, we have focused on getting bookings. However, there are always a couple of tables set aside for walk-ins.
"We expect lots of people, especially for the England matches against Croatia and Scotland. Being Italian, though, I hoped we would begin the tournament in the first match with a win."
Among the other pubs showing matches are The World’s End, London Road, Brighton, the North Laine Brewhouse, Gloucester Place, Brighton, and The Station, Goldstone Villas, Hove.
