A REMORSELESS domestic abuser was jailed for a “serious attack”.
Richelieu Seebalam was found guilty of assaulting a woman in Crawley.
The 62-year-old denied the assault charge but was convicted in a hearing before Crawley Magistrates’ Court.
The court heard how there was a “domestic violence context” to the attack.
Seebalam had caused the woman, whom The Argus has chosen not to name, injury.
It was a “serious attack” upon her, the court noted.
The court also noted that Seebalam has “shown no remorse” over the incident which took place in September last year.
Magistrate Christopher Howard-Harris jailed Seebalam for three months for the incident, and told the defendant to pay a £128 surcharge.
Seebalam, of Ifield Drive, Crawley, was put under a restraining order not to visit or contact the woman. The order lasts until further notice.
