A FUNDRAISING page has raised thousands of pounds towards funeral costs for teenager who was found dead on Tuesday.
The body of Marc Williams from Uckfield was found in woodland surrounding the Heron’s Ghyll area after he was reported missing on Sunday.
Despite only being set up less than a day ago, a fundraiser remembering the 18-year-old has already raised more than £3,600.
It has already beat the original target of £1,000.
Lee William’s, the fundraiser’s organiser, said Marc’s family were thankful for the “sheer generosity for others” and for the support they have received.
Writing on the GoFundMe Page, Lee said: “Marc disappeared recently, shortly after telling us he was on his way home from drinking with his friend, and then didn't return home.
“These donations will go towards Marc's funeral and any remainder will be followed to support us and our causes, we want justice for Marc so thank you very much for everything, not just the donations but the emotional support and just even being there.
“I also can't stress how grateful we are to the whole of Sussex police and anyone in the police that came to find him and work on this case. Thank you so much.”
Yesterday, Marc’s family paid tribute their "loving and caring" son.
In a statement released through Sussex Police, Marc’s family said: “Marc touched the hearts of so many people, and made their lives brighter with his loving, caring and thoughtful actions.
“We are feeling his loss every second and that will never change. Our hearts are broken.
“Rest peacefully, our cheeky boy. With so much love from Mum, Dad and your whole family.”
Marc's friend, Lewis Ashdown, has been charged with murder and was arrested in Eastbourne on Tuesday.
Ashdown, 19, of Normansland, Fairwarp, Uckfield, appeared in Brighton Magistrates Court yesterday.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear before Lewes Crown Court today.
