PUBLIC toilets which recently had a £30,000 refurbishment have been plastered with graffiti.
Pictures show the state of the damage to the toilets in St Martin's car park in High Street, Littlehampton, after vandals scrawled graffiti throughout the building.
Blue and red paint has been sprayed all over the walls, toilet seats and sink areas in a "mindless act" of vandalism, which is believed to have happened overnight on Thursday.
Adur District Council said the toilets, which had recently undergone a £30,000 refurbishment, would have to be closed again following the damage.
A spokesman said: “We are so disappointed and frustrated that the St Martin's public toilets in Littlehampton were vandalised.
"Having recently spent £30,000 to refurbish these facilities, we now face more closure and more cost to sort this mess out.
“We are working with Sussex Police in a bid to find the vandals.
"We are sorry that this mindless act will impact residents and visitors to the town.”
Sussex Police said anyone with information can report online or call 101, quoting 711 of 21/05.
