A SCHOOL, which charges up to £11,750 a term, has been chosen as one of the best in the UK for value for money.
Sussex boarding school Burgess Hill Girls in Keymer Road has been recognised as offering exceptional value for money in a study by The Telegraph.
The study judged private boarding schools by comparing their boarding fees with their GCSE exam results.
In Sussex, Burgess Hill Girls produced the best results for the lowest cost, only five schools across the UK did better for less money.
By the time the children are finishing their GCSEs parents will have to pay £11,750 per term for their children to board full time.
Day pupils only pay up to £6,500 whereas weekly boarding - up to five nights - can cost £10,250 per term.
Head teacher Liz Laybourn said: “It is great to see our aim to offer exceptional value for money is validated by this analysis.
“We are not super selective, so although we are proud of the excellent results that our pupils consistently achieve, we are even prouder of the progress they make during their time with us, which is often a jump up by one to two GCSE grades.
“Just as important to us is their wider personal development and achievements in co-curricular areas such as sport, the arts and work in the community.”
The school also listed second for GCSE results across all schools, when fees were not a consideration.
