POLICE and Border Force are on the scene at a beach after several suspicious packages were found further along the coast.
Photos show officers on the beach at Seaford this afternoon, and Border Force vehicles also in attendance.
Several packages suspected to be Class A drugs have been recovered from the sea today.
Packages were found in the water off the coast at St Leonards early this morning.
When contacted by The Argus, Sussex Police said more suspicious packages have also been found on the coast in Newhaven, but did not confirm if packages were also found at Seaford.
Sussex Police said: "Shortly before 6am, police received a report of a large number of packages in the sea off the coast of St Leonards.
"In liaison with the Coastguard and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, the packages were recovered and will be tested to determine what they are.
"Further packages were reported later in the day along the coast at Newhaven. Police are seeking to determine whether the two finds are linked.
"They are suspected to be Class A drugs and have been taken to an undisclosed secure location."
The Coastguard has been contacted for comment.
