FIREFIGHTERS were called to a home this morning after its thatched roof burst into flames.
Crews were called to the thatched house in Downview Road, Felpham, in the early hours.
Pictures from the scene show flames tearing through the roof of the residential home.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service sent teams from across the coast to extinguish the blaze.
Firefighters from Bognor, Littlehampton, Chichester, Worthing and Petworth are at the scene.
The teams are using aerial ladder platforms from Worthing and Selsea to bring the fire under control.
A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue said this morning: "There are now two pumps on scene at the Downview Road fire in Felpham and there is a partial road closure.
"We are advising people to find alternative routes when travelling and allow extra time for the school run this morning."
