A BRUTE who attacked a woman showed no remorse for the victim, a court heard.
Iftakher Ismaile Mohammed attacked the woman in the presence of a child in Shoreham.
After assaulting her, he then threatened to kill her if he went to prison because she reported him to the police.
At Brighton Magistrates’ Court, the 29-year-old was sent to prison after being found guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
District Judge Amanda Kelly noted how Mohammed was “regularly involved in coercive and controlling behaviour” towards the woman, whom The Argus has chosen not to name.
The attack in May last year happened “in the presence of a child”.
Then after the conviction, Mohamed had spoken with probation staff where he “minimised his behaviour and blamed the victim”.
The court heard how Mohammed was responsible for the “serious and sustained incident” but “only had remorse for himself”.
Mohammed, of Harbour Way, Shoreham, was jailed for six months and was ordered to pay a £128 surcharge.
