A GRANDSON appeared in court accused of murdering a city restaurant boss.
Sue Addis was found dead in her home at Cedars Gardens in Brighton on January 7.
The 69-year-old restaurant boss owned the popular Donatello and Pinocchio’s venues in The Lanes and North Laine.
Her death caused shock in the city, with hundreds paying tribute to her kindness and charity work.
Now, it can be revealed that her 18-year-old grandson Pietro Addis is accused of her murder.
Reporting restrictions prohibiting him being identified expired when he turned 18 in March.
He appeared via video link at Hove Crown Court for an interim hearing before Her Honour Judge Christine Laing QC.
Wearing a black T-shirt, he spoke to confirm his name, and denied the murder of his grandmother.
Deanna Heer represented the Crown Prosecution Service during the hearing.
Sarah Elliott QC represented Addis.
Addis is due to stand trial in August this year, and the next hearing will be on July 2.
