NEARLY a quarter of people in Brighton and Hove have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine, figures reveal.
NHS data shows 54,413 people had received both jabs by May 2 – 22 per cent of those aged 16 and over, based on the latest population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
Of those to have received both jabs, 43,013 were aged 45 and over – 40 per cent of the age group.
It means 11,400 people aged between 16 to 44 have received both doses.
Across England, more than a quarter of people aged 16 and over have received their second vaccine dose.

The NHS vaccine data also reveals variation in coverage for residents who had received at least one dose between different areas across Brighton and Hove.
Across Brighton and Hove, 54 per cent of those aged 16 and over have had one jab.
Areas with the highest coverage:
1) Rottingdean & Saltdean, with 73.4 per cent of people aged 16 and over given their first dose
2) West Blatchington, 71.6 per cent
3) Woodingdean, 70.7 per cent
Areas with the lowest coverage:
1) Coldean and Moulsecoomb North, 29 per cent
2) Round Hill, 32.5 per cent
3) North Laine and the Lanes, 35.2 per cent
Despite the success of the rollout, many staff at care homes in Brighton and Hove have not been vaccinated.
The figures show 1,797 out of 2,163 eligible staff, including agency workers, at older adult care homes had received a first dose by May 2 – meaning 17 per cent have not had a jab.
The government is currently in consultation over plans to make the jab mandatory for staff over concerns for residents.
Across England, 12.9 million people had received a second dose of the jab by May 2 – 28 per cent of the population aged over 16 and over.
That includes 11.1 million people aged 45 and over – 45 per cent of the age group.
In total, 28.8 million people had received at least one dose of a vaccine by the same date, covering 63 per cent of people over 16.
