A MOTORIST escaped with only minor injuries after a nasty crash on a main road, it was reported.
Police and ambulance crews were called to Tarring Road, Worthing this morning (Saturday, May 1).
It is understood the silver vehicle was struck from side on by another vehicle.
The car was flipped over onto its roof as a result of the collision.
The crash happened near the junction with South Street Tarring and Downview Road by a level crossing.
Images from the scene show a stricken silver upside down.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene and the road was closed.
Two police cars blocked the road in one direction and set up a cordon, while the ambulance was also there.
Glass from the car’s windscreen and other parts of metal debris were left on the road.
More as we get it.
