Southern Rail said a person was struck by a train between Arundel and Horsham this morning, (Saturday, May 1).
The line between the two towns was blocked, but reopened this afternoon.
It is understood the ambulance service and police were called to help with the incident.
Passengers were warned to travel later in the day or make alternative arrangements. Replacement bus services were operated.
