A SHOP thief stole hundreds of pounds worth of honey and Champagne during his latest crime spree.

Liam Richard Cover targeted the Holland and Barrett store in Crawley for Manuka Honey.

He also stole cannabis oil from the shop in County Mall during two raids between March 13 and 15 this year.

In total he stole more than £1,000 worth of goods from the retailer.

At Brighton Magistrates’ Court the 39-year-old admitted the thefts, and assaulting Liam Stow.

The offences put him in breach of a suspended sentence for two shop thefts.

Cover also admitted stealing gin and Champagne from BP at Gatwick Airport in November last year.

He raided the same garage again on December 7, stealing Delacourt Brut Champagne worth £27.50, and then stole six bottles of Prosecco worth £66 on Boxing Day.

Cover, formerly of Stevenson Way, Three Bridges, was jailed for 36 weeks.
