A DRIVER was arrested after ten people were found inside a refrigerated lorry this evening.
Sussex Police stopped a lorry on the A24 at Findon Valley, Worthing, just before 6.45pm, and ten people were rescued.
Emergency services carried out welfare checks and officers arrested the driver on suspicion of immigration offences.
A force spokesman said: "Police stopped a lorry containing ten people suspected to be illegal immigrants on the A24 at Findon Valley just before 6.45pm.
"They were checked over by paramedics and escorted away by police to be handed over to Home Office Immigration Enforcement and Border Force.
"The driver was arrested on suspicion of immigration offences and taken into custody."
