Emergency teams responded to an incident at a sports club this morning.
Ambulance crews attended Peacehaven Golf Club in Brighton Road, Newhaven, at about 11am.
Footage from the scene showed a large blue tarpaulin screen which appeared to have been erected to surround paramedics as they work.
Several critical care cars could be seen parked in the golf club car park, alongside an ambulance and a fire engine.
An East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said crews had assisted the ambulance service, with teams leaving the scene by 11.35am.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "A man has been taken ill at the location.
"There are no suspicious circumstances and no further details at this time."
The South East Coast Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
