A MAN was punched in the face after challenging a queue-jumper at a convenience store.
The 42-year-old was waiting in a socially distanced line outside the shop in Littlehampton when another man brushed past him and walked straight into the store.
When he challenged the other customer on his behaviour, a fight broke out and he was punched in the head.
The victim had been waiting in line to to enter the Wick Express store in Wick Road at about 4.30pm on Tuesday, March 30, when his attacker barged past him.
He confronted the younger man over his actions, sparking an altercation between the pair which saw the 42-year-old punched and left with grazes to his hand and head.
The assailant was also seen brandishing a hunting-style knife before leaving the scene and cycling towards the town centre.
Sussex Police have now released a CCTV image of a suspect in connection with this incident, and have urged anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact them.
The suspect is black, in his early twenties, 5ft 10in tall and has afro-style hair.
He was wearing a grey puffer jacket, a black beanie and black tracksuit bottoms.
Investigator Martin George said; "If you can help us trace this man, or if you also saw anything of what happened, please contact us either online or by calling 101, quoting serial 991 of 30/03.
