The road is partially blocked and there is queueing traffic after a four-vehicle crash on the A27.
Police are at the scene and recovery work is ongoing following the collision at Arundel this afternoon.
Sussex Roads Police officer PC Tom Van Der Wee was among the emergency teams called to the scene.
At 5.40pm, he posted an update on the crash on social media, saying: "We’re on scene with South East Coast Ambulance Service colleagues at a four-vehicle collision on the A27 in Arundel.
"Thankfully, all persons are on the whole okay and the driver of one vehicle has been taken to hospital to be checked over.
"Vehicle recovery is on scene so the road will be fully open shortly."
An AA traffic report is warning drivers to expect slow traffic in the area as a result of the crash.
It reads: "The road is partially blocked and there is queueing traffic due to a collision on the A27 Chichester Road Eastbound before The Waterwoods (Ford Road Roundabout), near the hospital."
Update
The road has reportedly now been cleared.
