A McDonald's restaurant will be shut for the rest of the day following a police incident, it has been confirmed.
The site at Brighton Marina was closed this afternoon after "a man was found in distress on the premises".
Sussex Police have now confirmed the McDonald's restaurant and the surrounding area will be closed for the remainder of the day.
Officers were first called to Brighton Marina at 12.05pm. Witnesses described seeing a large number of police cars and ambulances in the area as emergency teams dealt with the incident.
Other passers-by said areas inside the restaurant had been cordoned off with police tape, and officers were stationed outside the building.
A notice displayed at the front of the McDonald's reads: "Unfortunately this store is closed today."
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: "Emergency services were called to the McDonald's restaurant at Brighton Marina at 12.05pm on Wednesday, April 14, after a man was found in distress on the premises.
"The man was taken to hospital by ambulance.
