DETECTIVES have charged a man with murder after an arrest was made earlier this week.
Officers were called to a property in Magdalen Road, St Leonards after a man’s body was found.
A public appeal and a search was then launched for a suspect wanted in connection with the incident.
Now police say they have confirmed the identity of the man found dead. He was 51-year-old Darren Alderton, from St Leonards.
His body was found on Thursday last week (April 8).
Today the force confirmed that Seyed Iman Tabarhosseini, 37, was charged with Mr Alderton’s murder.
He is due to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court today.
Detective Chief Inspector Emma Vickers said: “This continues to be a fast-moving investigation and we would like to thank the public for their assistance with this matter.
“We continue to appeal to anyone who thinks they might have information to assist our investigation, to come forward to us.”
Sussex Police said: “A man has been charged in connection with a murder in St Leonards.
Police discovered the body of a man inside a property in Magdalen Road on Thursday.
“He has since been identified as 51-year-old Darren Alderton, from St Leonards.
“Officers launched a murder investigation and arrested a man in North London on Monday evening (April 12) in connection with the death.
“On Wednesday (April 14) Seyed Iman Tabarhosseini, 37, unemployed, of no fixed address, was charged with murder. He has been remanded in custody to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court later in the day.”
