AN ALLEGED sex offender has denied two charges of breaking an order.
Spencer Pledge is accused of possessing a device capable of recording or photographing children while travelling in a motor vehicle.
He is also accused of possessing a police counter terrorism uniform, handcuffs, and a stab vest in Worthing.
The 44-year-old appeared before Lewes Crown Court for a plea hearing this month.
He denied three charges relating to the breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order imposed in 2013.
The claims were that he was in breach of the order on January 13 this year with the alleged device, and that he allegedly possessed the items of uniform in May 2019.
Pledge spoke to confirm his name and pleaded “not guilty” as the charges were read out during the 15-minute hearing before His Honour Judge Martin Huseyin.
Sarah Lindop represented the Crown Prosecution Service, while Pledge was represented by Andrew Turton.
Pledge, of Sackville Road, Broadwater, was told he faces a further hearing on June 17.
The judge told him a provisional trial date will be on September 6.
