The picture is thought to have been taken outside the old Hove Town Hall in Norton Road in about 1951.
It looks like some sort of works outing – maybe town hall workers off for a jaunt on the Southdown coach.
Eagle-eyed readers will be able to spot the Duke of Edinburgh on the royal ship Balmoral as it sails into Shoreham.
It was 1958 and crowds joined Naval cadets lining the jetty to catch a glimpse of the royal visitor.
He was there to open the new “Prince Philip Lock”.
Our last picture is dated about 1957 and shows the old Smythers Brewery, in Drove Road/North Road, Portslade. Lots of readers say the area has not changed much.
