BACK in 2006, basketball fans were thrilled to watch Dennis Rodman play for the Brighton Bears.
The former Chicago Bulls star joined them for three games in what was their final season and was mobbed wherever he went.
He had recently taken part in TV’s Celebrity Big Brother and his appearances on the basketball court drew record crowds.
Today’s archive photos from that era show fans queueing to see him at the Brighton Centre.
We also have a shot of him signing his book at Churchill Square and people clamouring for his autograph as he came off court after the Bears v Guildford heat.

The Bears were one of the top clubs in the country in the Nineties and early Noughties. As we report on pages 2 and 3 today, there are plans for their return to top flight British basketball.
