BEACHGOERS have complained of huge toilet queues as crowds flocked to seaside to enjoy the easing of lockdown.
Thousands of people took a trip to Brighton seafront yesterday as the country relished in record breaking temperatures.
However, those relaxing in the seaside sunshine say they faced a daunting prospect should nature call – massive queues to use the seafront loos.
Pictures show crowds of beachgoers queuing along the promenade to use the toilets in Hove. Those trying to relieve themselves by the West Pier faced similar lines of people.
People who could not bring themselves to face the queues were reportedly using South Street as an alternative.
The alleyway between West Street and Middle Street had a “constant stream of people urinating”, according to those on the road.
One man was spotted putting down a can of Stella Artois before relieving himself against a wall.
A resident said: “Since lockdown it's been extreme on sunny days, but it improved a lot when the council put more toilets on the seafront last summer.”
“There were four - eight people at once all day yesterday on South Street,” said another.
The council have been approached for comment.
