CROWDS flocked to the beach today as UK temperatures hit record-breaking highs.
Pictures show Brighton beach was packed as people rushed to soak up the sun.
Highs of 25.6 degrees were recorded in Cambridgeshire - the highest temperature recorded in March since 1968, according to the Met Office.
St James’ Park in London saw highs of 24.2 degrees, while in Brighton the mercury reached 19 degrees.
The Met Office said in a tweet: “Today has been the warmest March day since March 29, 1968, when 25.6 degrees was recorded in Mepal, Cambridgeshire.
"Temperatures could get close to this all time March record tomorrow.”
The forecast remains dry and bright for the rest of the week in Brighton, with temperatures of 15 and 16 degrees predicted over the next couple of days, before turning cooler on Good Friday, when it is expected to fall to 11 degrees.
Photographer Simon Dack captured the scene at the beach today as people took to the seafront in droves.
It comes after lockdown restrictions were eased yesterday, so that groups of up to six people or two households can now meet outside.
