Two vehicles crashed into one another on the A27 yesterday morning.
The collision came as a result of wood falling from the back of a lorry on the westbound carriageway between Hollingbury and Patcham shortly after 9am, police say.
Both vehicles contained adults and young children, but there were no serious injuries reported as a result of the crash.
Sussex Police are now appealing for witnesses as officers try to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.
A force spokesman said: "We’re urging anyone who saw what happened – in particular anyone with dash cam footage – to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 333 of 25/03."
