A COWARDLY man who posted revenge pornography has been put under a restraining order.
Simon McGuinness targeted the woman and posted naked pictures and videos of her online.
The 27-year-old from Hastings changed the victim’s profile picture on Facebook to humiliate her.
He posted videos they had made together on Pornhub along with pictures of her asleep naked.
It included details of where she was from.
Later he sent links to the videos to her relatives to further try to shame her and claimed she was raped by three Muslim men, a claim which is not true.
At Lewes Crown Court McGuinness now says he feels ashamed about his behaviour and was given a ten-month suspended prison sentence.
It was revealed the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was a young teenager at the time.
She had fled his home in her pyjamas after he had turned violent and locked her things in the bathroom.
Kyle Fournillier, prosecuting, said: “This was circulated publicly which caused very serious distress to the victim and severe psychological harm.”
Natasha Dardashti, defending, said her client felt “hugely ashamed and upset with himself” over his behaviour.
“He realises the extent of the damage he has caused,” she said. “He has reflected on his feelings of insecurity and his difficulties, and accepts his behaviour was immature.”
Her Honour Judge Janet Waddicor said McGuinness, of Bohemy Field, Hastings, admitted three counts of disclosing private sexual photographs with with intent to cause distress.
She told him: “You had intimate pictures of her, and images obtained without her consent, and you abused her by posting it on the internet on pornographic websites for anyone in the world to see.
“To add insult and humiliation to her you superimposed her head on someone else’s genitalia and said she had a predilection for a certain type of sexual activity.
“The distress that this caused is incalculable. It was truly sickening for the victim and her family.
“Unfortunately your kind of offending is becoming increasingly common, as people like you think you can get your revenge and get away with it.
“Then when questioned you took a cowardly approach by continuing to deny your guilt and suggested someone else in your house could have done it. Let’s point the blame elsewhere was your attitude.
“There was no excuse for your behaviour.”
McGuinness was told to complete 30 rehabilitation sessions with the probation service as part of the suspended sentence.
