AN elderly man was seriously injured when he was robbed while withdrawing money from the Post Office.
The 88-year-old had just withdrawn £300 in London Road, St Leonards, when he was approached by an unknown man about 2.20pm on Monday.
The person grabbed the elderly man's arm and reached into the pocket of his coat, taking his wallet containing the cash.
He then fled in the direction of Norman Road, leaving the pensioner shaken and with a serious arm injury.
Inspector Aidan Cornwall said: “This was a truly despicable incident where an 88-year-old man has been left with a horrific injury as a result.
