THE A27 has reopened after a crash but motorists have been warned to expect delays.
The dual carriageway was closed eastbound between the junction with the A23 near Hollingbury and the junction at Falmer this morning.
Highways England reported the closure and said it was due to a "serious collision".
The agency said: "Emergency services including Sussex Police are on scene. Please avoid the area if possible."
The crash is understood to have taken place at Falmer Hill on the eastbound carriageway.

Traffic reports suggest the incident involved a car and a pedestrian.
Sussex Police said officers responded to a road traffic collision.
This afternoon Highways England issued a further statement to say the A27 had fully reopened.
