A HUGE tree has been uprooted and "crushed" several parked cars in Hove after a night of strong winds battered the county.
Police and highway crews were called to the scene in Seafield Road at around 6.30pm where the huge tree was blown over - blocking the road.
Officers managed traffic while the area was made safe.

Pictures taken by a passerby last night show the tree had fallen on several cars that were parked opposite where it had once stood.
The tree now appears to have been cut up and the road unblocked this morning.
One car was pictured badly damaged, with its front bonnet crumpled by the impact of the falling timber.
They said a "nice Jeep" was among one of the vehicles damaged by the tree that caused "mayhem".
A spokesman from Sussex Police said: "Police were called around 6.30pm on Wednesday to reports of a fallen tree blocking Seafield Road, Hove.
"Officers managed traffic while the area was made safe.
"Highways attended to clear the tree from the carriageway and police stood down from the scene shortly after 7.35pm."
