EVER since film crews arrived in the county, there has been eager anticipation surrounding the filming of new drama Grace.
ITV has now announced that the first episode of the crime series will hit screens at 8pm on Sunday, March 14.
It is based on the international best-selling book "Dead Simple" by Sussex author Peter James.
The eagerly anticipated series was filmed at locations across Sussex last year and eagle-eyed viewers may be able to spot some familiar locations.
Sydney Street, Brighton
In September 2020, John Simm, who will play Detective Roy Grace, was spotted walking down a busy Sydney Street in Brighton with a small with a small crowd of extras and camera crew following.
Shopkeepers said they were asked to temporarily remove signs about face masks and social distancing, as the drama is not set in the Covid-19 era.
Brighton Palace Pier
In several promotional posters for the series, John Simm and Richie Campbell, who plays DS Glenn Branson, can be seen standing under Brighton Palace Pier.
The newly released trailer for the series also includes a stunning drone shot of the pier at night.
Western Esplanade, Hove
A production team were seen shooting a scene between John Simm and a co-star in Western Esplanade in Hove in October last year.
The actors were seen sat inside a seafront shelter surrounded by small crew and no extras.
Ferndale Road and Silverdale Road, Hove
Ferndale Road, a residential street in Hove, has also been used as a filming location.
Just around the corner in Silverdale Road, crews filmed a dramatic hit and run scene involving a pick-up truck and a police car.
Dozens of masked cast and crew gathered in Silverdale Road, Hove to film a “hit and run” crash for the drama series.
The thrilling scene took several takes, with cameramen ensuring the stunt was filmed from every angle.
In the main action sequence involved actress Amanda Okafor, who plays DC Emma Jane Boutwood.
Shoreham Port
A camera crew were seen shooting a scene with actor Craig Parkinson, in the pouring rain, in November.
Craig, 44, known for his role in BBC drama Line of Duty, was accompanied by a dozen crew members wearing masks and high visibility jackets.
The shoot continued into the night, with the star taking to Twitter to share a photo looking out onto a wet and dark Shoreham Port.
Other filming locations include a Southern Rail train carriage, the Van Alen building in Marine Parade in Brighton, as well as Woodingdean and Peacehaven.
The first film, Dead Simple, is directed by John Alexander (Belgravia, Trust Me, Jamestown).
A second Grace film, Looking Good Dead, directed by Julia Ford (Sticks and Stones, The Bay II, Safe) will air on ITV later this year.
