A MUSICIAN has raised thousands for a children’s charity after taking on a gruelling endurance challenge.
Mike Kerr, one half of rock duo Royal Blood, has raised more than £6,000 for Chestnut Tree House Hospice by completing a 4x4x48 challenge.
The rockstar, who lives in Brighton, started the challenge on Saturday at 4am and ran four miles every four hours for a 48-hour period.

Mike took to social media site Instagram to share a jubilant photograph after completing the trial.
In a caption alongside the image, he wrote: “Mission complete. 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours!
“Thank you for every single donation and your messages of support, they helped more than you realise.
“The power of sticking together is dynamite and this whole experience is something I’ll never forget.
“Never give up.”
A spokesman for Chestnut Tree House Hospice said the money raised will “make such a difference” for children with life-shortening conditions in Sussex and South East Hampshire.
Grant Phillips, fundraiser at Chestnut Tree House said he was grateful to Mike for choosing to support the charity.
He said: “Fundraising has been challenging during the pandemic and support from our local community has been invaluable.
“In addition to raising vital funds, we hope that Mike’s challenge and him talking about it on the band’s social media channels will help to raise awareness of Chestnut Tree House and the importance of children’s hospice care and inspire others to get involved.”
