SUSSEX fan favourites made a welcome return on Gogglebox last Friday as series 17 of the popular show got under way.
Couple Stephen Webb and Daniel Lustig-Webb, and the Michaels family, all sat on their sofas to watch some of the week's top television moments.
And what a week it was, with the announcement of Boris Johnson's "roadmap" to lifting lockdown restrictions and the beginning of Nasa's Perseverance robot's exploration of Mars.
Viewers were also treated to the cast's ever-entertaining reactions when watching the likes of It's a Sin, And and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, Gordon Ramsay's Bank Balance and This Morning.
Who are Stephen Webb and Daniel Lustig-Webb?
Stephen and Daniel are hairdressers who run the Lustig and Webb salon in Hurstpierpoint.
Stephen, well-known for his witty one-liners, has been on the show since series one in 2013, previously appearing alongside then-boyfriend Chris Ashby-Steed.
The pair split but continued to take part in the show as friends until 2018, when Chris quit the show.
After making the decision to step away from the show, he wrote in a Twitter post: “After ten series, a wedding, and a helluva lot of takeaways, our lovely dogs and I have decided it’s time to say a very fond farewell to our Gogglebox family.
"I’ve loved every minute of being on the show and will never forget all the amazing things it’s allowed me to do.
"Since my wedding, it’s felt like there should be a new start, so I’m taking the plunge to see what’s out there.
"I’m really looking forward to what the future holds, especially pursuing a career in TV, as I hope to show viewers that I have many more talents. So, watch this space."
Stephen went on to appear on Gogglebox alongside his mum, Pat, in what proved to be a very popular partnership with viewers.
He now shares his sofa with his husband Daniel Lustig-Webb, who was quickly taken to heart by fans of the show, as well as their prized pooches Betsy, Babs and Princess.
Who are the Michael family?
Andrew and Carolyne Michael regularly appear on Gogglebox alongside their son Louis and daughter Alex.
The couple also have two further children, Catheryne and Pascal, who have made fleeting appearances on the programme.
The family, from Brighton, featured in the first ever series of Gogglebox and have become stalwarts of the show.
There was a brief hiatus in 2015 when Andrew ran for MP in Hastings and Rye, representing Ukip.
At the time, Channel 4 bosses said: "It's with great regret that the Michaels are no longer in the show.
"Sadly, any Gogglebox cast member who becomes a candidate for a political party will have to step down from their involvement in Gogglebox.
"They have been excellent contributors to Gogglebox, and we are very grateful for all they have given to the show."
Andrew gained 13.3 per cent of the vote in the 2015 General Election, but failed to unseat Amber Rudd who received a 44.5 per cent share of the vote.
In September that year, the family was invited back to take part in Gogglebox again, and they have been a permanent fixture ever since.
