BRIGHTON is one of the noisiest cities in the UK, a survey has revealed.
Over the last 12 months, there have been more than a quarter of a million noise complaints across the country.
Brighton ranked 10th in the country as there were 3,182 noise complaints in the last year.
There were 249 complaints per 10,000 households.
Of the noise complaints, 33 per cent were reported to the police, while 52 per cent are settled with the neighbour creating the noise.
The most common reason for a noise complaint was loud music, 50 per cent.
This was closely followed by loud parties - 43 per cent - and raised voices and shouting, 30 per cent.
Research shows that thousands of noise complaints are being directed at UK councils.
In the last 12 months, councils for some of the top 100 populated cities in the UK received a whopping 268,125 complaints.
London was ranked as the noisiest city.
Confused.com conducted a Freedom of Information request to the 100 biggest cities in the UK to find out the number of noise complaints over the last year.
