Brighton and Hove has now had 14,000 people test positive for coronavirus.
The total positive tests since the start of the pandemic was reached the figure after the latest official count at 9am Monday morning.
That is compared to the city’s estimated population count of about 290,000 people as of mid-2019.
Across Sussex, a further 264 cases were found between 9am Monday and the same time on Friday.
Over the same period, there were 153 more cases found in West Sussex, where its total is now 40,127.
There were 62 more cases found in East Sussex, where its total is now 29,942.
There were 49 more cases found in Brighton and Hove, where its total is now 14,000.
The areas’ rates since the start of the pandemic per 100,000 residents are 4,644, 5,373 and 4,813 respectively.
Over the same period, across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 18,924 over the period, to 4,182,009.
The Sussex cases were among the 519,448 recorded across the South East, a figure which rose by 1,682 over the period.
