Two men in a white van clashed with the driver of a Land Rover yesterday afternoon.
Chichester Police are now appealing for witnesses as officers look to establish the circumstances surrounding the confrontation.
Tensions flared between the trio at the junction of Monk's Hill and Emsworth Common Road, between Emsworth and Chichester.
A Chichester Police spokesman said: "We are seeking witnesses to an incident at about 3pm on Tuesday, March 2.
"An altercation took place between two males in a white van and a male driving a Land Rover.
"Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting 0730."
