A VILLAGE has seen a 142 per cent rise in the number of Covid-19 cases, it has been reported.
Felpham has gained the attention of government officials for being an anomaly, Sky News has reported.
The town's rise in cases was revealed in Friday's Downing Street press conference.
It is not said to be an area of concern, but there is unusual activity in the data for the village.
Dr Michael Head, a senior research fellow at the University of Southampton said outbreaks will become more common once restrictions are eased.
Speaking to Sky News, he said: "We are going to see outbreaks crop up across the country. As cases get lower, those outbreaks will get more noticeable."

It comes after it was revealed that more than 20 million people in the UK have now been given their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on social media that it was a “huge national achievement” and praised the NHS staff, volunteers and armed forces for their work in the vaccine rollout.
He tweeted: “20 million people across the UK have now got the jab – a huge national achievement and a testament to the tireless work of NHS staff, volunteers, the Armed Forces and many more.
“I urge everyone to get the jab when called. Every jab makes a difference in our battle against Covid.”
