A woman has been charged with two offences under the Communications Act 2003.
This comes after hundreds of hoax calls were made to police and an ambulance service during the coronavirus pandemic.
Wendy Sirisena of Sherbourne Road in Hove has been charged with two counts of making abusive and nuisance calls to emergency services between July 1 2020 and January 21 this year.
The first count relates to an alleged 289 calls made to South East Coast Ambulance Service.
The second relates to an alleged 113 calls made to Sussex Police.
Sussex Police have also charged the unemployed 39-year-old with two breaches of a Community Protection Notice issued on January 20, 2021. The breaches were allegedly made on January 23 and February 4, 2021.
Sirisena has been bailed to appear at Brighton Magistrates Court on April 1, 2021.
