AUDIENCES at a cabaret club were left in stitches when two comedians took to the stage to make their drag debut.
Crawley-born Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett were challenged to try their hand at drag as part of a new series of their hit TV show.
The duo performed at Proud Cabaret in St George’s Road, Brighton in front of a packed crowd that included fellow comedian Alan Carr and Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK stars, The Vivienne, Baga Chipz and Joe Black.
Never a dull day at Proud 🤣

Comic Rob said: “We were both quite desperate to be sexy, we’ve always wanted to be sexy.
“We’re never in ‘Weird celebrity crush’ or ‘Torso of the week’.
“We’re never in that … and I think we found a way to be sexy!”
Romesh joked: “With Rob and I in drag, it’s a thin line between sexy and terrifying.
“You’ll have to make up your own minds as to which side of that line we fell.”
Before the performance, Romesh said he was nervous to find out that they were performing alongside some of the most famous drag queens in the world.
He said: “I just want us to not humiliate ourselves.”
Despite the nerves, Rob successfully performed a lip-sync to the Chaka Khan hit, I’m Every Woman, as his drag alias Rusty.

Romesh’s rendition of Nicki Minaj’s Anaconda also went down a treat with the audience.
Reflecting on their performances, Romesh said he had found a passion for drag performing.
He told Rob: “Honestly, I love it. I properly love it. Actually, I would do it again.”
The three-part series of Rob and Romesh VS will also see the comedians try their hand at golf and art.
But Rob told The Irish News that the most stressful scene of the entire series was filmed on Brighton beach.
He said: “We had to film the end scene, of us on Brighton Beach, and just before we filmed that I was told we were going into Tier 4 – all the shops were shutting at midnight, I couldn't get my wife's Christmas present and Christmas was cancelled.
“So, for me, that was probably the most stressful scene that we did. I'll remember that forever.”
The show is available to stream on Sky and Now TV now.
