IT’S A PICTURE to spark a million memories – a night at Sherry’s in West Street, Brighton. It is thought to have been taken in around 1937.
Angela Samuels said: “My mum used to go there in the Thirties and my grandfather watched on the balcony to make sure she was safe.”
We have another great crowd shot, probably from 1929, showing people strolling along Brighton prom near the Aquarium.

Note they are all wearing hats, very much a fashion item in the late Twenties.
We are told this was “promenading” which took place every weekend with people dressing up in their best clothes.
Our last Argus archive picture today shows anglers – both men and women – on the Palace Pier, probably in the late Thirties.
