NEW stats show the incredible number of people aged 70 and over in Sussex who have received their first dose of the Covid vaccine.
A total of 243,805 people aged 70 in the county have received their first coronavirus jab, according to the latest figures available.
The data breaks down as 100,038 people receiving a first dose in East Sussex and 143,767 people in West Sussex.
This is works out as 92.1 per cent of people aged over 70 in East Sussex and an incredible 97.0 per cent in West Sussex.

Here is a list of provisional figures for the proportion of people aged 70 and over in England who have received a first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, broken down by Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
There are 135 CCGs in England, and they commission most of the hospital and community NHS services in the local areas for which they are responsible.
The figures are based on provisional data from NHS England for vaccinations up to February 14.
