A SUSSEX town recorded freezing temperatures on six consecutive days last week – for the first time since 1991.
Last week saw bitter temperatures dropping to -7°C in some areas of the county as Storm Darcy ripped through the country.
For the first time in 30 years, Hastings experienced six consecutive days where the air temperature at 9 am was freezing or below.
The maximum temperature on Monday, February 8 was 0.6°C, the coldest since February 2018.
A picture taken by weather volunteers on Thursday, February 11 shows a frozen water feature on the seafront in Hastings.
The freezing temperatures also caused icicles to form on the ceiling of the West Hill lift tunnel.
Stunning pictures snapped last week from high above Worthing showed hundreds of rooftops covered in snow.
The pebbled beach was sprinkled with a dusting of snow as people walked along the icy seafront footpath.
