A SHEEP was reportedly butchered in a field near a popular park for its meat.
The Sussex Police Rural Crime Team were alerted to the animal killing yesterday, which happened in a field near Sheffield Park, Uckfield.
Police have warned people not to purchase any cheap or suspicious lamb or mutton following the incident.
Yesterday the Team investigated a report of a sheep being butchered in a field near Sheffield Park for its meat.
