A MAN and a 15-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of affray have been released under investigation.
The pair were detained as armed police responded to reports of a fight in the Olive Road area of Hove yesterday evening.
There was a huge emergency response as police vehicles filled New Church Road and Mornington Crescent at about 6pm.
Armed units seen carrying guns were stationed in the area and a dog unit was also seen attending the scene.
A witness told The Argus they had seen officers "talking to a man in a tracksuit" while further units continued to arrive in the area.
The incident continued for more than an hour, with police telling The Argus it was "ongoing" shortly before 7.30pm.
At 9pm, the force provided an update on the situation.
A spokeswoman said: "Police were called to reports of an affray involving several people in the Olive Road area of Hove at 5.50pm.
"A man aged 18 and a boy aged 15 were arrested on suspicion of affray.
"No injuries were reported and no weapons were found."
This morning, Sussex Police confirmed both the 18-year-old man and the 15-year-old boy were "later released under investigation" and there were "no other developments" of the incident.
